Born in 1996, Rosita Piritore began to strum at the age of 9 with a melodica immediately showing distinct improvisational and musical skills. At the age of 11, she began to study piano in her country, Palma di Montechiaro (AG, Sicily). In 2017 she obtains a Bachelor’s degree in piano and musical disciplines with full marks and honors, presenting a thesis titled Aesthetic revolution in Claude Debussy: an original approach to the keyboard colorful of popular influences. In 2019 she obtained her master degree in piano with top marks, honors and honorable mention, presenting a thesis titled From shadow to light: stories of female composers between past and future, an occasion in which she was honored by the presence of the composer Sonia Bo.

Polyhedral musician, she performs a heterogeneous concert activity as a soloist and with multiple chamber ensembles, bands and orchestras, with repertoire ranging from classical to modern-contemporary. She has performed at festivals, reviews, concert seasons and cultural events in numerous cities such as Milan, Enna, New York, Ferrara, Ravenna, Sciacca, Parma, Agrigento, Reggio Emilia, Faenza, Cesena, Mazara del Vallo etc. She has always been dedicated to musical improvisation; she has recorded a cd of piano improvisations entitled Dal movimento published in 2021. She has also developed a multidisciplinary propensity to associate musical creation with other artistic practices such as painting, graphics, theater.

She has won numerous international piano and composition competitions.  She was awarded in the piano competitions Diapason and Euterpe, Mediterraneo in musica and Pjeter Gaci Competition. Her works have received national and international awards in the competitions Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa (2012) [because she has distinguished herself in a role that opposes gender stereotypes], International Composition Competition Maurice Ravel, Composition Competition Città di Albenga, 1st Composition and Transcription Competition A.Gi.Mus., Concours International Leopold Bellan, Women’s Composition Competition Femfestival; about music for short films in the Competition Nicholas Green, Il mantello and Archeo Ciak. She won the 1st prize in the Composition Contest Azione Musicale, in the 17th Composition Competition City of Barcelona P.G and in the International Composition Competition Il Casale di Riardo.

Her works have been performed and presented in Europe, America and China in seasons such as Music by Women Festival (Columbus), Art.9 (Hong Kong), LunART Festival (Madison), I concerti del Boito (Parma), Voices Raising Voices (New York), Incontri al pianoforte (Caltanissetta), Verdi Off Festival (Parma), Performing Media Festival [PMF~2021] (South Bend), Genesis: The Beginning of Creativity (New York), PREview Festival (Porto) as well as broadcasted by American stations such as WPRB Radio (New Jersey), Flagler College Radio (Florida) and European stations such as Resonance FM (London). Her works are also published by Studiomusicalicata and Erom. Her orchestral work Grovigli was premiered in 2021 by the Orchestra dell’Emilia Romagna Arturo Toscanini.

In the biennium 2019-2020 she was the Italian representative for the EOALAB project of the European Opera Academy, working in Holland, Lithuania and Portugal with the final debut of her operina Pupi e Pupari. She has been artist for Objet-Trouvé at Centro Musica in Modena with the famous guitarist Jean-Marc Montera, for Eparm 2020 at Royal Academy of Music in London in a team to present the talk “Collective creation in Music and Linked verse composition” about a composition based on the sketches of Beethoven’s Tenth Symphony, at GATM 2021 in Rimini, at Music Diaries International Festival in Thessaloniki and for Parma Film Festival with Alessandro Haber. In 2022 she performed in the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York. Since 2020 she has been playing the role of pianist in Orchestra Toscanini Next in Parma.
