Born in 1996, Rosita Piritore began to strum at the age of 9 with a melodica – then with a keyboard – immediately showing distinct improvisational and musical skills. At the age of 11, she began to study piano in her country, Palma di Montechiaro (AG, Sicily). There she has studied with Salvatore Rinaldo and then with Adele Capitano. At the same time, she was admitted to the Conservatory V. Bellini in Caltanissetta where in parallel with the last years of middle and high school, she attended pre-academic courses. In 2014 she achieved scientific maturity with honors, she also completed the inferior completion and she entered the three-year Academic Triennium at the aforementioned Conservatory with the guidance of Daniele Riggi. In 2017 she obtains a Bachelor’s degree in piano and musical disciplines with full marks and honors, presenting a thesis titled Aesthetic revolution in Claude Debussy: an original approach to the keyboard colorful of popular influences, supervisor Giuseppe Fagone. In the same year, she accessed the prestigious A. Boito Conservatory in Parma; here she also achieving 24 formative credits in the didactic department. Here she studies piano with Maestro Raffaele D’Aniello and composition with Maestro Luigi Abbate. In 2019 she obtained her master degree in piano with top marks, honors and honorable mention, presenting a thesis titled Dall’ombra alla luce – Storie di compositrici tra passato e futuro.
Polyhedral musician, she performs a heterogeneous concert activity as a soloist and with multiple chamber ensembles, bands and orchestras, with repertoire ranging from classical to modern-contemporary. About this, she has performed during festivals, concert seasons and cultural events in several Italian locations (Agrigento, Milano, Caltanissetta, Ravenna, Sciacca, Parma, Enna, Reggio Emilia, etc.). She is dedicated to disparate musical genres including jazz, blues, pop, post-rock, minimalism, prog; she also recorded piano and keyboards with S.O.S. (Sound of Silence) and Iricanti bands. She produces and arranges experimental electroacoustic pieces and electronic music. She actively collaborates with various instrumental and vocal classes as an accompanying pianist, taking part in the same role in various masterclasses (including those of first orchestral parts and famous concert performers) and in national and international competitions.
She was awarded in the piano competitions Diapason (2008-2009) and Euterpe, Mediterraneo in musica (2009). Her works have received national and international awards in the competitions Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa (2012) [because she has distinguished herself in a role that opposes gender stereotypes], about music for short films in the Competition Nicholas Green (2012), Il mantello (2013) and Archeo Ciak (2014). She won the 1st prize in the Composition Contest Azione Musicale (2015), in the 17th Composition Competition City of Barcelona P.G (2017) and in the International Composition Competition Il Casale di Riardo (2019). In 2016 she received an international award in the International Composition Competition Maurice Ravel, she also received honorable mentions in the Composition Competition Città di Albenga (2016 and 2019) and in the 1st Composition and Transcription Competition A.Gi.Mus. (2017). She was selected as the Italian representative for the EOALAB project by European Opera Academy joining in a team of composers and artists for the creation of a work that represents “a challenge to the boundaries of traditional opera”. This project involved her in the Netherlands, Lithuania and Portugal. She has also received a positive mention in the Rossi Fest in Belgrade (2017), considered by the artistic director of the festival “very valuable and interesting“. Despite her young age, Rosita’s compositions have been performed in several Italian cities and in America, as well as broadcast by radios such as WPRB Radio in New Jersey. Her works are published by Studiomusicalicata Edizioni Musicali and EROM [Edizioni Romana Musica].
